Ingredients
  

For the Apples

For the Candy Coating
  • 1 bag Starburst candies Use assorted colors for a rainbow appeal!
  • 3 tbsp corn syrup This helps to keep the candy coating shiny and gooey.
  • 0.25 cup water Just enough to melt the candies down smoothly.
For Assembly

Method
 

  1. Wash the apples thoroughly and dry them well to remove any wax residue.
  2. Firmly insert the wooden sticks into the center of each apple.
  3. In a heavy saucepan, combine the unwrapped Starburst candies, corn syrup, and water, mixing well before heating.
  4. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until fully melted and smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. If desired, divide the melted candy and add gel food coloring to achieve vibrant shades.
  6. Quickly drizzle different colors back into the main pan and swirl gently with a toothpick for a marbled effect.
  7. Dip each apple into the melted candy mixture, turning to coat completely. Allow excess candy to drip off.
  8. Place the coated apples onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Allow the candy coating to harden completely, about 30 minutes.
