Ingredients
  

  • 4 count large lemons Choose firm, unblemished lemons for best flavor.
  • 1 cup fresh ginger Peeled and thinly sliced for optimal flavor release.
  • 4 cups water Used for simmering the fruit to soften.
  • 5 cups granulated sugar Essential for setting and preserving the marmalade.
  • 1 packet pectin Optional, helps achieve a firmer set for the marmalade.

Method
 

  1. Wash the lemons thoroughly and slice them thinly, removing any seeds.
  2. In a large pot, combine the sliced lemons, ginger, and water. Bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour, until the lemons are soft.
  4. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Bring back to a boil.
  5. If using pectin, add it according to package instructions.
  6. Continue boiling until the mixture reaches the desired consistency, about 15-20 minutes.
  7. Pour the hot marmalade into sterilized jars and seal immediately.

Notes

For best results, ensure your jars are properly sterilized to prevent spoilage and extend shelf life. This marmalade makes a wonderful homemade gift!
