Ingredients

Candy Coating
  • 6 medium-sized apples
  • 400 g sugar
  • 240 ml water
  • 60 ml light corn syrup
  • 1 cucchiaino vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cucchiaino food coloring (blue or green for a winter vibe)
  • 60 g white chocolate chips (optional for drizzling)
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Candy Thermometer
  • Wooden Sticks
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
  3. Insert wooden sticks into the stems of each apple.
  4. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, corn syrup, and vanilla extract. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring until it reaches the hard crack stage (about 300°F or 150°C on a candy thermometer).
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully add food coloring, stirring gently to combine.
  7. Dip each apple into the candy coating, allowing excess to drip off. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. If desired, melt the white chocolate chips and drizzle over the coated apples. Sprinkle with festive decorations.
  9. Let the apples cool until the coating hardens, about 30 minutes.
