- Gently pick through the crab meat to remove any shells. If using imitation crab, tear it into bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, gently fold the prepared crab, diced celery, bell peppers, red onion, and cream cheese (or Greek yogurt) together until all ingredients are evenly coated.
- Stir in the lemon juice, paprika, salt, and pepper. Taste the mixture and adjust the seasonings as needed to your preference.
- For best flavor, cover the bowl and refrigerate the crab salad for 15–30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and chill.
- Garnish the chilled crab salad with fresh chopped parsley or dill just before serving. Enjoy on a bed of crisp lettuce, in a sandwich, or as a delightful side dish.
Notes
This crab salad is incredibly versatile. Try serving it in avocado halves, as a dip with crackers, or even in mini phyllo cups for an elegant appetizer.
