Ingredients

  • 2 oz Vodka Plain or chocolate-flavored, depending on preference for a deeper chocolate note.
  • 1 oz Raspberry liqueur Chambord is a popular choice for its rich berry flavor.
  • 1 oz White crème de cacao or chocolate syrup Use white crème de cacao for a clearer drink, or chocolate syrup for a darker, richer color and intense chocolate flavor.
  • 1 oz Raspberry puree or raspberry syrup Provides a fresh raspberry flavor; homemade puree or store-bought syrup works well.
  • 1 oz Heavy cream or half-and-half Optional, for a creamier, richer texture and lighter color, adds a luxurious mouthfeel.
  • 1 cup Ice Essential for thoroughly chilling and slightly diluting the cocktail.
  • 1 tbsp Crushed chocolate or cocoa powder For rimming the glass, adds a decorative and flavorful touch.
  • 15 ml Chocolate syrup Optional, for drizzling inside the glass for extra flair and visual appeal.
  • 3 pieces Fresh raspberries For an elegant and fresh garnish, enhancing the fruity aroma.
  • 1 portion Chocolate shavings or a chocolate-dipped raspberry Optional, for a sophisticated and edible garnish that complements the flavors.

Equipment

  • Martini Glass
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Strainer

Method

  1. Dip the rim of a martini glass in melted chocolate or raspberry syrup, then coat it with cocoa powder or fine sugar. For extra flair, drizzle chocolate syrup inside the glass in a swirl pattern.
  2. Place the glass in the freezer to chill while preparing the cocktail.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with fresh ice.
  4. Add 2 ounces of vodka, 1 ounce of raspberry liqueur, 1 ounce of crème de cacao or chocolate syrup, and 1 ounce of raspberry puree or syrup.
  5. Optionally, add 1 ounce of heavy cream for a richer texture.
  6. Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to thoroughly chill and mix the drink.
  7. Using the strainer on your shaker, pour the mixture into the prepared, chilled martini glass.
  8. Top the drink with fresh raspberries on a skewer, chocolate shavings, or a chocolate-dipped raspberry.
  9. Optionally, add a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder for a dessert-like finish.
  10. Sip and savor the decadent blend of rich chocolate and tart raspberries.

Notes

This recipe can be easily customized by adjusting the sweetness or creaminess to your preference. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute vodka and liqueurs with chocolate milk, raspberry syrup, and non-alcoholic flavorings.
