Ingredients

  • 4 wings turkey wings Choose large, meaty wings for the best results. Pat them very dry before seasoning.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Helps the seasonings adhere to the wings and keeps them moist.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder Adds a fundamental savory base to the seasoning mix.
  • 1 tsp onion powder Complements the garlic powder for a rich, aromatic flavor.
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika Provides a beautiful color and a depth of smoky flavor.
  • 1 tsp dried thyme An earthy herb that pairs wonderfully with poultry.
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary Fragrant and piney, rosemary adds a classic touch to turkey.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to your personal taste preference, ensure even seasoning.
  • 0.5 tsp pepper Freshly ground black pepper is recommended for best flavor.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Keeps the wings moist and tender during the initial baking phase.
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley Finely chopped, for a vibrant garnish and fresh aroma.

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Baking Dish
  • Aluminum Foil

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the turkey wings under cold water to clean them, then pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for crispy skin.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried thyme, dried rosemary, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form a paste.
  4. Add the dry turkey wings to the bowl with the seasoning mixture. Use your hands to ensure each wing is completely and evenly coated with the spices.
  5. Arrange the seasoned turkey wings in a single layer in a sturdy baking dish. Pour the chicken broth around the wings, ensuring it doesn't wash off the seasoning.
  6. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. This steams the wings, making them incredibly tender.
  7. After 1 hour, carefully remove the aluminum foil from the baking dish. Continue to bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the turkey wings are beautifully golden brown and very tender.
  8. Once baked, remove the turkey wings from the oven and let them rest in the baking dish for 5-10 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring moist and flavorful meat.
  9. Garnish the baked turkey wings with freshly chopped parsley for a bright finish and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

For an even crispier skin, you can broil the wings for the last 5-10 minutes after removing the foil, keeping a close eye on them to prevent burning. These wings pair wonderfully with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh green salad.
