Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, parsley, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  2. Shape into 1.5-inch meatballs and bake 20 minutes.
  3. Boil potatoes 15-20 minutes until tender; drain.
  4. Mash potatoes with garlic, butter, milk, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  5. Whisk flour in a pan 1 minute; add broth gradually. Stir in soy sauce and Dijon; simmer until thick.
  6. Add meatballs to gravy and serve over garlic herb mashed potatoes.

Notes

Avoid overmixing meatball mixture to keep them tender. Add milk when reheating mashed potatoes to maintain creaminess.
