What is a Margherita Pizza?

Margherita pizza is pizza in its simplest and purest form imho…and it’s the best. It is usually made with a San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, salt and extra-virgin olive oil. We are going to jazz this one up with a few more cheeses.

Description

 Incredibly easy and incredibly delicious!

Ingredients
  • ¼ cups olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoons sea salt
  • 8 Roma tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 pre-baked pizza crusts ((12 inch))
  • 8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded Fontina cheese
  • 10 fresh basil leaves, washed, dried
  • ½ cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cups crumbled feta cheese
Instructions
  1. Mix olive oil, garlic, and salt together. Coat tomatoes with the mixture and let them sit for 15 minutes. Heat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

  2. Apply the tomato marinade onto each pizza crust. Evenly spread Mozzarella and Fontina cheeses on the pizzas. Place tomatoes on top, then sprinkle with shredded basil, Parmesan, and feta cheese.

  3. Bake in the oven that has been preheated until the cheese becomes bubbly and golden brown, which usually takes around 10 minutes.
