It's amazing how you can prepare and cook ribs in under an hour! Thanks to an air fryer, it's now quick and effortless for a weeknight dinner.
Take off the membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry with a paper towel. Divide the rack into 4 pieces. Combine olive oil and liquid smoke in a small bowl, then massage it onto both sides of the ribs.
Mix together brown sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder in a bowl. Sprinkle the seasoning mix generously on both sides of the ribs. Allow the ribs to sit for 30 minutes to enhance the taste.
Preheat an air fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Put the ribs in the air fryer basket with the bone-side facing down, ensuring that they do not touch each other. If needed, cook them in separate batches.
Cook the ribs for 15 minutes. Turn the ribs over (meat-side down) and cook for another 10 minutes. Take the ribs out of the air fryer and apply 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce to the bone-side of the ribs. Put the basket back in the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes. Flip the ribs over, brush the meat-side with the remaining 1/2 cup of BBQ sauce, and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until you achieve the desired char.
