Description

This Garlic Parmesan Tortellini blends cheese-filled pasta, savory Italian sausage, fresh broccoli, and a creamy garlic parmesan sauce into a flavorful, quick weeknight dish ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (20-ounce) package cheese tortellini
  • 1 pound Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage, cook 5–7 minutes until browned, then transfer to a plate.
  2. Lower heat to medium. Add garlic and sauté 1 minute. Pour in heavy cream, simmer gently, then stir in Parmesan, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  3. Cook tortellini in salted boiling water per package instructions (7–9 minutes). Add broccoli in last 2–3 minutes. Drain together.
  4. Return sausage, tortellini, and broccoli to skillet. Toss with sauce and serve hot with extra Parmesan.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmesan for best melt and flavor. Add a splash of pasta water if the sauce thickens too much.
