- ½ cup sour cream
- ⅓ cup green olives, finely chopped (plus extra for garnish)
- 2 tbsp olive brine
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1–2 oz gin (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh chives or parsley for garnish
- Crackers, crostini, or fresh vegetables for serving
Instructions
- Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
- Finely chop green olives, reserving a few for garnish.
- In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Add chopped olives, olive brine, garlic powder, onion powder, and gin (if using). Fold together until well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer to a serving bowl, cover, and chill for 1–2 hours for best flavor.
- Garnish with chopped olives, herbs, and a crack of black pepper before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the refrigerator. Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving. Do not freeze. For a healthier version, use Greek yogurt and light cream cheese.
