Description

Deviled Egg Christmas Trees are a festive, healthy twist on classic deviled eggs. Featuring a creamy avocado filling and fun holiday decorations, these adorable “trees” make the perfect party appetizer—quick, nutritious, and guaranteed to impress guests of all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 ripe avocado (or 2 tablespoons mayonnaise)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Greek yogurt or sour cream (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped chives or parsley
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Paprika or chili flakes (for decoration)
  • Chopped red bell pepper or pimentos
  • Yellow bell pepper or cheese (cut into small stars)
  • Fresh dill or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place eggs in a pot of cold water and bring to a boil. Cover, remove from heat, and let sit for 10–12 minutes. Transfer to ice water for 5 minutes.
  2. Peel eggs under running water and slice in half lengthwise. Scoop out yolks and set whites on a platter.
  3. Mash yolks with avocado or mayonnaise until smooth. Add mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and optional Greek yogurt. Fold in herbs.
  4. Transfer filling to a piping bag and pipe into egg whites, creating tree-shaped swirls.
  5. Decorate with paprika or chili flakes, red bell pepper pieces, and small yellow pepper or cheese stars.
  6. Arrange on a platter with fresh dill or parsley and serve.

Notes

Shock-cooling the eggs in ice water ensures smooth peeling. For the brightest green filling, prepare and serve immediately to prevent avocado browning.
