Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lobster tails (6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- Fresh lemon wedges
- Smoked paprika (optional)
- Fresh parsley (optional)
- Sea salt and white pepper (to taste)
- Cayenne pepper (pinch, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat broiler to high (500°F); place oven rack 4–5 inches from heat source. Line a baking sheet with foil.
- Thaw lobster tails completely if frozen; pat dry and let sit at room temperature for 5 minutes.
- With sharp kitchen scissors, cut lengthwise through the top shell of each tail to butterfly.
- Gently lift meat through the shell slit and rest it on top, still attached at the tail end.
- In a bowl, combine melted butter and minced garlic.
- Brush garlic butter generously over lobster meat.
- Place tails on baking sheet and broil for 6 minutes (1 minute per ounce).
- Check that meat is opaque and firm; internal temp should be 140°F.
- Serve with fresh lemon wedges and extra melted butter if desired.
Notes
Use cold-water lobster tails for best flavor. For variety, swap garlic for shallots or butter for olive oil. Avoid overcooking by using a meat thermometer and sticking to the 1-minute-per-ounce rule.
