Description

This creamy, melty cheese fondue brings Swiss-inspired flavor to your table using Gruyère, Emmental, white wine, and aromatics—perfect for cozy nights or lively fondue parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 8 oz shredded Emmental cheese
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 1 garlic clove, halved
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rub the inside of the fondue pot or saucepan with the halved garlic clove.
  2. Toss shredded Gruyère and Emmental cheeses with cornstarch.
  3. Heat wine and lemon juice over medium heat until gently simmering.
  4. Add cheese gradually, stirring in a figure-eight motion until smooth and melted; season with black pepper.
  5. Transfer to a fondue warmer and serve immediately.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, replace wine with vegetable broth or apple cider for balanced acidity and smooth melting.
